Spanish Classes in Jacarilla
 
New classes will be starting on week commencing 18th September 2017 All groups are small and friendly and focus on spoken Spanish.
 
Classes are held in the village of Jacarilla, near Bigastro (about 30 minutes inland from Torrevieja).  They are held on weekday mornings and cater for a range of levels from beginners to intermediate.  The price of all classes is based on 5 euros an hour.  Please contact me via this site for further information or to discuss your particular needs.  Below is a general description of course contents.
 


BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF COURSES

Level one - Survival A foundation course covering pronunciation rules, numbers, basic phrases and situational language, also basic everyday and cultural information about living in Spain.

Level two - Essential Sentence building to give confidence, starting with phrases like "I like", "I want" "I'm going to .." and linking them with simple words to make full sentences.  We then make "you" and "he or she" sentences laying the basis of verb conjugation whilst keeping grammar terms to the minimum.

Level three - Practical More basic grammatical concepts are introduced, starting with the recent past tense, (I have made) present continuous (I am making) and then detailed look at present tense conjugations.  We introduce reflexive verbs to talk about daily routines and discuss likes and dislikes.

Level four - Grammatical We now tackle a range of verb tenses - simple imperatives, two past tenses, future tense and revision of reflexive verbs.  Direct and indirect object pronouns and the use of “por” and “para”.

Level five – Logical Revision of past tenses and when they are used.  Revision of future and conditional tenses.  Uses of past participles including past perfect tense.  Conditional tense. Present subjunctive and its uses.

Level six – Successful Revision of all tenses already studied.  Introduction to imperfect subjunctive and passive voice.  Focus on idiomatic verbs in reflexive and non-reflexive forms.  Communication activities.

At all levels - grammar is applied to everyday conversational situations, pronunciation rules are explained and listening and speaking skills are developed.  The language of teaching is English.

Advanced Conversation group - An opportunity to practise spoken Spanish at Intermediate level.  Designed for students who have completed at least Level Four or equivalent.
